Photo Stitching Software
Photo Stitching Software is very different from one program to the next and quite often the users result will vary. Everyone that has ever experimented on their own with trial based or pay per use photo stitching software would agree that much of the virtual tour software available on the market makes continual stitching mistakes.
Over the last eight years, the RTV staff has mastered the art and science of photo stitching. Photo stitching is the oldest method of image assembly and when utilized properly our photo stitching software produces by far the very best panorama you could possibly make. When cameras are not setup properly or when virtual tour software suites don't take into consideration the many factors that the RTV system does, people often find themselves with uneven panoramas, stitching mistakes, and lots of post processing time editing images.
What really makes our photo stitching software different is that we have a lens engineer on staff that will take time with you and ensure exact configuration of our virtual tour software and your cameras placement on our custom rotator device. Each camera and lens configuration will have a specific setting in our photo stitching software as well as on our custom rotator.
Our system will support any digital camera and lens configuration, and if your camera is not yet on our list during your setup process, you will email pictures to our setup staff to begin setup and calibration. During your setup, RTV will run diagnostics on your camera’s lens and photos allowing us to know and control the five variables involved in an image stitch that can lead to poor end results if gone uncontrolled.
Our staff determines the concave and convex distortion of your camera’s lens.
We compute the exact digital focal length of your lens.
Your lens' maximum field of view is computed.
We setup and configure your RTV rotator so your camera rotates around the exact center of your camera’s lens.
We compute the exact percent overlap of your images when taken from the twelve stop RTV rotator.
This data is compiled by our lens engineers and stored in an electronic lens file read by your photo stitching software every time you perform an automatic stitch. By the time our engineers are finished setting up your camera and lens profile, all that is left up to you is to have the ability to read a bubble level to insure that you are rotating about a perfectly level plane from one virtual tour scene to the next!
We take photo stitching very seriously and know that time and quality is extremely important to your success. While other companies don't sell you calibrated hardware and photo stitching software to ensure you proper image assembly we do. In the end you will have an extremely finely tuned and accurate photo stitching system that will put your quality light years ahead of any one-shot lens, fisheye lens, or hand held virtual tour system.
