Discretion – the Better Part of Photography

Discretion – the Better Part of Photography

Karin GaylorIn 2002, an opportunity to learn about real estate photography and a novel concept called “virtual tours” fell into my lap.  RTV’s software was the only company out there that had a product I would even consider working with to create a virtual tour.  I remember talking to Jason LaVanture (who still talks and sounds the same) and, after careful consideration, I made the plunge and became a provider.  The staff at RTV were ALWAYS helpful and considerate, talking me through a huge learning curve.

The knowledge, work ethic and deliberate communication from RTV was, and still is, the reason I have become a successful virtual tour provider and photographer in Houston, Texas.  Living in League City and
working mainly in the Clear Lake area I’ve photographed properties from $60,000 to almost $3 million.  A new venture is providing virtual tours for yacht brokers – so I get to see how the other 2 percent live!

Which brings me, slowly but surely, to the title of my blog : “Discretion – the Better Part of Photography”.  Over the past 9 years, I’ve provided virtual tours through RTV on hundreds of properties.  Many times, these properties are listed because of divorce, death, illness, or other life-altering situations.  In many instances, clients and homeowners have talked and confided in me about the situations relating to the property.  Trust develops over time with real estate agents, builders, brokers, even the homeowners.  I take that trust very seriously and keep all discussions and information confidential.

Because of this trust, my clients have confidence that I will do what needs to be done at the property and
take great care that doors are locked, lights are turned off, and the property is left secure.  My clients also know I will keep their confidence.  Much of my business is from referrals from some of my most loyal clients.  My clients know when they hire Karin Gaylor Photography, and Clear Lake Virtual Tours, they don’t have to worry about anything relating to the virtual tour aspect of their marketing strategy.  I take great pride in taking care of my clients – giving them the best of my skills and those of RTV.
