Media Manager Overview & Virtual Tour Creation
In this guide we review the functions, features, and specifications that are a part of the Media Manager.
Walk Through Guide
- In this guide we run through the steps of project creation. While there is a variety of information within this video, the media manager plays a crucial part in the the project’s creation.
Add External Media – URL’s / Embeds
- You can use External Media to include content from a variety of sources (Matterport tours, YouTube/Vimeo videos, etc.), just by using a URL or embed code:
Importing Media – Dropbox / OneDrive
- You can now import media from cloud storage providers (Such as Dropbox and OneDrive for now, others coming soon), right from the Media Manager page. Click “Import”, which will bring up a window that will have you sign in (if it’s the first time using it). With Dropbox as the example, you simply choose your content and click “Choose.” You’re media will then begin to upload.
Media Size – Type Specifications
Images (Stills & Panoramas): Supported File Extensions: JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF
- File Size: up to 750MB
- Image Size: up to 7500×7500, anything larger will be optimized.
Use MySize to upload pre-optimized tour player images. We would recommend using the following dimensions:
- Stills – upload images no greater than 1920 in any dimension
- Sphericals – upload images no greater than 2500 in any dimension
- Cylindricals – upload images no greater than 2500 in any dimension
- Partials – upload images no greater than 2500 in any dimension
- Horizontal Flats – upload images no greater than 2000 wide
- Vertical Flats – upload images no greater than 1206 tall
When uploading Spherical images, please be aware that any PNG images will be converted to JPG format.
Video Supported File Extensions: MP4, MOV, AVI, M4V, WMV
- Size: Any size and scale it
- File Size: up to 750MB
Media Manager Actions: Be sure to have the toggles you wish to have activated during the upload turned on prior to adding your media.
- Add External Media: Allows you to embed videos as scene, from other sites.
- Auto-Name: Gives you options to auto rename your entire uploaded media.
- Bulk Edit: Gives you the option to bulk edit your entire uploaded media, such as branded/non-branded, description, and advanced settings for scene durations.
- Delete: Lets you multi-select media and delete at once, or a single delete.
- Image Upload Settings: This option lets the user upload with MySize, which allows custom-sized media (the original dimensions of the file) along with a dropdown of extra image detection.
- Import: Allows you to import media from a file hosting service.
- Interface Settings: These options are found at the top right of the Media Manager, and allow the user to turn on/off Details, Labels, Attributes, and Smart Titles.
- Save: Allows you to save changes you made to your scenes.
- Upload: Allows you to upload media from your device.
- Upload Strip Settings: These settings allow you to strip numbers and special characters during a media upload.
- Video Upload Settings: These options allow you to strip audio while uploading video files, and change from normal video upload to 360 video upload.
Aspect Ratio and Media Display Menu
For your virtual tours you are able to set the default display settings either per Project, or change the Defaults for all proceeding projects.
Here you can set the defaults for how media will be displayed for all newly created projects.
