Strategy Class 1: Building Backlinks for Your Virtual Tour Business
Welcome to Strategy Class 1 of 4 on building an effective backlink campaign for your virtual tour business.
This SEO class series comes from RTV’s own Kokomo virtual tour company, Best Property Marketing. If you want to stay on top of your game, follow along with this series, grab a pen, bookmark the RTV Blog, and take plenty of notes.
In this first class, we are going to talk about building backlinks from other blogs.
Why Blog Backlinks Matter
Real estate marketing software for photographers can help you promote your services, but strong backlinks can help more people find your business online.
Search engines love blogs, and backlinks placed on established blog spaces can provide valuable search engine authority with very little work involved.
For those still using Internet Explorer, it may be time to step your game up and start using Mozilla Firefox because of the SEO tools and plugins available.
How to Build Backlinks From Blogs
When it comes to generating backlinks from blogs, here is the basic process:
- Download the free SEO Quake plugin and use it as one of your SEO research tools.
- Find blogs that allow do-follow links, since those are the links that can count as a “vote” back to your site.
- Read the blog post and leave an insightful, useful, or relevant comment that is likely to be approved by the blog administrator.
- Include your backlink with relevant anchor text when permitted.
- Repeat the process consistently.
Focus on Relevant, Established Blogs
Real estate photography business software works best when your online marketing is targeted, consistent, and connected to the audience you want to reach.
When posting comments, focus on blogs that are relevant to your business and have a higher page rank than your own website. For example, a blog with a page rank of 3 to 5 will usually offer a more valuable backlink than a newer or less established blog.
You can use the SEO Quake plugin to help determine a blog’s page rank.
You may be able to include your backlink in the website URL attached to your comment, inside the comment itself, or both, depending on what the blog allows.
Use Anchor Text Wisely
When creating a backlink, use anchor text that describes the page you are linking to.
Your anchor text should include relevant keywords you want to rank for. However, avoid only using keywords that are already part of your website title or domain name. Instead, focus on keyword phrases you want to improve for, but that are not already strongly optimized on your own site.
At the end of this post, for example, I will use “SEO Services” as anchor text linking back to the SEO Services page on my website.
Keep It Relevant
When searching for blogs to comment on, always focus on blogs that share the same or a similar theme as your own website.
The goal is not only to improve search engine exposure, but also to attract real visitors who may read your comment and click through to learn more about your services. That means your time is best spent on blogs that are likely to bring in targeted visitors.
Stay tuned for Strategy 2.
Until next time, market and prosper!
